The Erlestoke Manor Fund is all about keeping steam alive for today and tomorrow. We own and care for three Great Western Railway locomotives – each with its own character, story, and loyal following – and make sure they continue to steam on heritage railways for future generations to enjoy.
7812 Erlestoke Manor
Built in 1939, Erlestoke Manor is one of the classic GWR Manor Class engines. She is currently based at the West Somerset Railway, where she is delighting visitors with regular appearances on one of Britain’s most scenic heritage lines.
7802 Bradley Manor
Sister engine Bradley Manor is a regular performer on the Severn Valley Railway. Loved by volunteers and visitors alike, she remains a shining example of the Manor Class at work.
5164 Large Prairie
Our newest addition is Large Prairie 5164. Currently under overhaul, she represents an important part of GWR history – a type of locomotive that worked tirelessly on branch lines and commuter services. Bringing 5164 back into traffic will ensure that this vital piece of railway heritage is not forgotten.
Looking after three locomotives is no small task. Every mile steamed, every overhaul, and every lick of paint depends on the support of people like you. There are many ways to get involved:
Become a shareholder – the best way to support us, with the added benefit of Gift Aid eligibility.
Volunteer your time – from sales stands to engineering, every contribution counts.
Spread the word – tell friends, share our story, and bring more people into the Fund’s family.
Your support keeps Erlestoke Manor, Bradley Manor and 5164 alive on the rails, ready to inspire the next generation of enthusiasts.
